Moddershall Oaks spa – general information
What time should I arrive for my spa day, break or evening at Moddershall Oaks?
We ask all guests to adhere to your allocated arrival and departure time which is outlined on your booking confirmation. These timings ensure a smooth and unhurried experience for all guests enjoying our spa facilities here in Staffordshire. Arriving on time allows you to make the most of your spa day, spa evening or overnight spa break, including access to the relaxation areas and treatments.
I’ve booked in for a spa treatment only. When should I arrive?
Arrive 10/15 minutes prior to your spa treatment to complete your medical form. Please note that spa access is not included when you visit for a treatment-only booking.
What do I need to bring with me for my spa day?
We provide you with towels & robes during your visit, so you can travel light and relax from the moment you arrive. Flip flops are available to purchase (£5), or you’re welcome to bring your own. Upon arrival, you will be asked to provide a pre-authorisation of a credit or debit card. For security, the physical card will need to be presented and the pin entered. Kindly note, contactless payments are not accepted as a pre-authorisation.
Can I still come if I’m pregnant?
Of course, you are very welcome to use Moddershall Oaks spa during pregnancy. However certain facilities (such as the hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room and certain treatments) should be avoided. At Moddershall Oaks, we have spa treatments specially designed for pregnant ladies, designed to help you relax comfortably – please ensure that you tell us if you are, or suspect you may be pregnant, so we can advise further.
What if I have a medical condition, allergy or accessibility requirement?
Your comfort and safety is important to us. We therefore ask that you inform us of any medical conditions, allergies or accessibility needs at the time of booking. Our team can advise on suitable treatments, and provide advise on your spa experience to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.
What’s the dress code at the spa?
Casual. You are here to relax and you will find many people make the most of that opportunity by wearing robes or gym wear around Moddershall, even at breakfast and lunch. If you have an evening meal included at our onsite restaurant, The Oak House, you will need to change into smart/casual clothing.
Is there an age restriction for the spa?
Yes, Moddershall Oaks is an adult-focused spa retreat, focused on providing a calm and relaxing environment for all guests. The minimum age for spa access is 14 years. Anyone aged 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Please note, spa treatments are available for guests aged 16 years and over.
How do I get to Moddershall Oaks Spa?
Moddershall Oaks is located near Stone, Staffordshire. If travelling by car, please use the postcode – ST15 8WF. We are easily accessible from Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford and surrounding areas, making us a convenient countryside spa destination in the Midlands.
What is the nearest railway station?
The closest train stations are:- Stone, Stoke-on-Trent or Stafford train station. From either station, a short taxi ride will bring you to our spa retreat.

What spa facilities are available at Moddershall Oaks?
Our luxury boutique spa offers a range of indoor and outdoor spa facilities designed for relaxation and wellbeing. Outdoors, guests can enjoy a heated vitality pool with poolside service, a traditional kelo sauna with countryside views, an invigorating drench bucket for hot and cold therapy, and a relaxation lounge. Inside facilities include a tranquil swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, steam room, experience shower, reflexology footbaths, heated loungers and a dedicated sleep lounge for complete relaxation. The spa is designed to feel calm, spacious and unhurried, allowing you to move through each area at your own pace.
Do I need to book spa treatments in advance?
Yes, Moddershall Oaks is an adult-focused spa retreat, focused on providing a calm and relaxing environment for all guests. The minimum age for spa access is 14 years. Anyone aged 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Please note, spa treatments are available for guests aged 16 years and over.
Is there anything to do outside of the spa facilities?
Yes, Moddershall Oaks is set within 72 acres of Staffordshire countryside, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy lakeside walks, woodland trails, and complimentary bicycle hire. The outdoor experiences complement your spa visit, allowing you to combine relaxation with fresh air and gentle activity. Moddershall Oaks is also proud to offer the award winning MADE Wellness Centre. Gym access is included in a spa package, and fitness/wellbeing classes can be added on (fees apply).
Food and drink
Is any food or drink included in a spa package?
Yes, although this does vary depending on the package that you have booked. Unless otherwise stated, spa days include an arrival drink and a 2-course lunch at the Oak House restaurant. Spa evenings include an arrival drink, and food inclusions then depend on the package you have chosen (options to have either no food, a poolside deli board or a 2-course dinner included). Overnight spa breaks include an arrival drink, a 2-course dinner and a freshly cooked breakfast. Woodland pod staycations include a freshly cooked breakfast (some woodland pod packages also include a 2-course lunch or dinner – only where clearly stated in the package description).
What food & drink options are there?
There are several places to enjoy food and drink at Moddershall Oaks. The Poolside Deli offers a selection of light bites and refreshments, with poolside service available too. The vegetarian cafe in MADE wellness centre offers a range of healthy and energising meals, snacks and drinks. The Oak House restaurant offers seasonal menus and a beautiful setting overlooking the lake and woodlands, with breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner options available. The Balcony Bar (on the first floor of the Oak House) offers light bites, roast tapas and a selection of drinks throughout the day.
Overnight breaks at Moddershall Oaks
Can I stay overnight at Moddershall Oaks?
Yes, we offer two overnight break options at Moddershall Oaks – boutique spa suites and luxurious woodland pods. Inclusions differ for spa suites and woodland pods.
What’s included with a staycation in a boutique spa suite?
Our boutique spa suites are rated as 5* guest accommodation by Visit England, and feature king-size beds, private bathrooms with rainfall showers, private decking areas, air conditioning, soft seating and premium Noble Isle toiletries included. Boutique spa suites are only available to book as a spa package with spa access included, and, unless otherwise stated in the package description, include an arrival drink, spa access across two days (from 3pm on the day of arrival until 4.30pm on the day of departure), a 2-course dinner, freshly cooked breakfast and a private timeslot in the outdoor heated spa pool.
What’s included with a staycation in a woodland pod?
The woodland pods, new in 2025, are nestled on the edge of the woodlands and include comfy king-size beds, air conditioning, blackout curtains, private bathrooms with BubbleSpa showers, private decking, and premium Noble Isle toiletries. The pods combine the comforts of a modern hotel with the tranquillity of a countryside retreat. The woodland pods offer a more flexible accommodation option (ideal if you’re attending a wedding or event, or exploring attractions in the local area such as Alton Towers). As a general rule, spa access is NOT included in a woodland pod escape, unless the package clearly states otherwise. If your spa package doesn’t included the spa, spa access can be added separately (additional fees apply).
How many people can stay in a suite or in a woodland pod?
Spa suites an accommodate up to three people (king size beds can be made twin upon request, and have the option to accommodate a third guest on a pull out sofa bed). Woodland pods are suitable for couples or families (double pods include a king-size bed that can be made twin upon request, family pods include a king-size bed and pull out junior beds suitable for children up to the age of 12). Do you have any accessible rooms?
Yes, we have one accessible spa suite and one accessible woodland pod available, thoughtfully designed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. If you have specific accessibility requirements, we recommend contacting the team to ensure the room meets your needs.
What are the check in and check out times for the suites and woodland pods?
For spa suites, check in is from 3pm and check out is 11am. For woodland pods, check in is from 2pm and check out is 10am.
Are the woodland pods heated?
Yes, all woodland pods are fully equipped with both air conditioning and heating to ensure a comfortable stay throughout the year.
Can I buy a woodland pod break as a gift voucher?
Yes, woodland pod and spa experiences can be purchased as gift vouchers, making them ideal gifts for birthdays, anniversaries or special occasions.
