Sous Chef

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join our talented kitchen team at Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat.

As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will lead by example, motivating the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dishes for our restaurant. You will ensure food preparation meets sales levels and is presented in a timely, high-quality manner while adhering to recipes, portion sizes, and preparation standards.

In the Head Chef’s absence, you will lead the kitchen staff to ensure seamless operations. Your role will also include assisting with menu development, menu costing, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards, and overseeing stock control, including ordering and wastage management.

We are looking for a Sous Chef with at least two years of experience in a senior chef role, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes. You must be driven to learn and eager to develop professionally.

Hours: 45 per week, over 5 days
Shifts: Typically 11:30-22:30, with regular weekend working
Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum, depending on experience
